Who is this course for?

This qualification is ideal if you:

  • Have no prior experience in accounting or finance.
  • Want to gain a first, recognised qualification in bookkeeping.
  • Run or support a small business and need to manage basic financial tasks.
  •  Are looking to progress onto higher-level AAT qualifications such as Level 2 Certificate in
    Bookkeeping or Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.

What will you learn?

The qualification introduces learners to the fundamentals of bookkeeping through 1 core unit:

Unit 1: Bookkeeping Fundamentals

  • Understand the role of the bookkeeper.
  • Understand financial transactions.
  • Process customer and supplier transactions.
  • Process receipts and payments.
  • Understand the benefits and risks of using accounting software to complete bookkeeping
    tasks.

By completing this qualification, you will gain confidence in handling basic bookkeeping tasks and
develop the foundation skills required to continue your studies.
